Dining Set

In the state of Kedah, there are 35 sawmills, 2 plywood/veneer mills and 9 moulding plants which have been licensed in this state. All this factories have processed 241,653 cubic meters of timbers in 1997. Apart from that, there are 308 furniture/wood working factories licensed and one Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) plant.

The secondary wood based industries have developed via sawmills, plywood/veneer mills, furniture/wood working factories, moulding plants and timber preservation and treatment plants activities.

There are also 60 illegal factories and the Department is taking proper steps in dealing with this illegal factories.
