NORTHERN KEDAH
DISTRICT FOREST OFFICE

The Northern Kedah Forestry Office was established in 1952. It is situated in Jitra. This Office administers the forest in the civil district of Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Kota Setar and a part Sik.

Northern Kedah Forestry Office administered an area of 365,718 hectares, and about 24% of it are Permanent Forest Reserve, that is 88,366 hectares. The breakdown of the area according to civil district is as follows:

c) Langkawi

d) A part of Sik

Chalet in Bukit Wang

The management of this office is lead by a District Forest Officer, and assisted by an assistant District Forest Officer (placed in Langkawi), and it is divided into three ranges, namely Langkawi Range, Padang Terap Range and Kubang Pasu Range.
